Jérémy Luks: the wear and tear of time highlighted by accidents

Jérémy Elinck, also known as Jérémy Luks, is one of the co-founders of Street Designers, but more importantly, an emerging contemporary artist. After taking up painting in 2004, he developed a personal approach to graffiti which he calls "accidentalism". Constantly concerned with highlight the wear and tear of things via The passage of time, Jérémy has managed to create a world that is uniquely his own.

From industrial wastelands to Parisian galleries

Jérémy liked drawing from childhood, but he genuinely took up painting from 2004.. That year, he enjoyed exploring disused factories, industrial wastelands and abandoned buildings in search of blank walls to place his art upon. Now known as Jérémy Luks, He tries his hand at graffiti and quickly finds his own style., made of imposing lettering and a dynamism of shapes highlighted by shimmering colours.

Parallel to his activity as a graffiti artist, he develops in 2006, he launched his first artistic Team Buildings for businesses. The aim: to awaken the artist within each of us and bring people together around a shared creative energy, as well as to introduce urban art to many people.

2013 was a big year for him, as he co-founded Street Designers with Ludovic, better known by his stage name: Scarred. It is within this agency that he deploys his many talents: Wall murals, Bespoke artistic team building, live artistic performances, and a multitude of event animation concepts tailor-made for the agency's clients.

Driven by a constant artistic curiosity, he also tries his hand at contemporary art, through the creation of large canvas paintings, exhibited in several Parisian galleries.

A pioneering artist of accidentalism and a specialist in spontaneous floral style.

Jérémy Luks has built his artistic reputation on his ability to innovate and find his own creative singularity. It is thus at the origin of the concept of accidentality, which he employed in his many paintings.

On murals, or on his canvases, he seeks to Create unique shapes through layering and overlapping paint.. Before drying, it uses a jet of water to break them down. More than a simple deterioration of the material, Jérémy Luks seeks the illusion of the passage of time. The resulting artwork is dynamic, even lively, thanks to the layers of paint that interlock like stratigraphy. It's the accidental nature.

In 2018, his pictorial style evolved and increasingly tended to depict colourful botanical elements. It's the famous floral style, which he made extensive use of during Street Designers’s landmark partnerships, such as at the Clos du Chêne shopping centre in Montévrain or for Murals for Gémo or during live shows on screens at an evening event.

Iconic works in the city and in galleries

The iconic works of Street artist Jérémy Luks meet mostly in urban centres. The Gémo brand trusted him to bring the facades of several of its establishments to life, while companies have asked him to work on the interior walls of their offices. We are particularly thinking of Sephora headquarters in Neuilly and to Prime Engineering for its Boulogne and Lyon locations.

From 2021 onwards, several Parisian art galleries have offered to exhibit Jérémy Luks« canvases. His »Latex« series was thus presented during the »Assemblages« exhibition in 2022, while in 2023 Jérémy exhibited his »Mural Fabric" series at the Bertrand Grimont gallery. A sign of the creative versatility of one of our co-founders!
