A mural is not decor. It's a statement. A wall that goes from a simple surface to an object that tells a story, that marks, that engages in dialogue with its location.
Street Designers is a production company dedicated to murals and urban art. Since 2013, we have been supporting businesses, local authorities, and developers on projects ranging from open-space walls to monumental facades.
Our strength: A core of artist friendsFrédéric CKEJA, Stéphane Opéra, Jérémy Luks, Olivier 2SHY, Walter BERNS, Ludovic SCRED ,..), each with their own signature, technique and graphic style. We have a national network of 200 urban artists, street art and muralists selected over the years for their uniqueness.
Who do we create murals for?
Our clients span the entire French economic and institutional landscape:
- Companies and brands that invest in their premises or façades
- Property developers and social landlords, 1 building 1 artwork programme
- Local authorities and municipalities (cultural programmes, arts initiatives, urban regeneration)
- Architects, town planners and landscape architects
- Schools, universities, cultural venues
- Shopping centres and public-access venues
Some brands we've worked with: Sephora, Mano Mano, Sowen, GEMO, BASF, Total, la Compagnie de Phalsbourg, Louis Vuitton.
What surface are we operating on?
We paint on almost all surfaces encountered in a professional environment:
- Interior walls: open plan space, hall, meeting rooms, corridors, stairwells
- External façades: head office, residential building, public building
- Parking: walls, pillars, ceilings, floors
- Flooring and grounds: sports pitch, forecourt, schoolyard, resin flooring
- Furniture and objects: containers, street furniture, lifts, custom-made
- Site hoardings
- Vehicles and means of transport
Each substrate comes with its own constraints. A plasterboard wall doesn't call for the same products as a concrete facade in a coastal area. We've gathered this experience project after project for over 25 years as artists and entrepreneurs. For paints, spray cans on wood are to be excluded, for example. These are practical details.
What is a decorative wall mural?
An artistic mural is a work painted directly onto a surface by a muralist, urban artist or graffiti artist. It follows the tradition of contemporary muralism, heir to New York street art and graffiti of the 70s-80s, then to French urban art of the 90s.
Today, this movement has left the streets to enter offices, shops, schools, and public places. Without losing any of its identity.
What gives a fresco its value is the gaze of an artist who transforms an ordinary surface into something that dialogues with its surroundings.
Good to know. You don’t have to cover 100 square metres of a wall. Strategically applying the paint to 30 or 40 square metres of the surface, whilst playing with the original colour of the surface, can create a striking visual effect on a tight budget. This decision is made in advance with each client.
A diversity of styles and a team of expert artists.
Each in-house artist has their own signature. It’s this diversity that allows us to respond to very varied briefs without imposing a single style. Among our team:
- CKEJA Illustrative universe, colourful characters and narrative compositions.
- Opera Abstract geometric design, solid blocks of colour and graphic shapes.
- Jérémy Luks A hybrid of graphics and plants. True freedom of expression between the rigour of lettering and the organic freedom of plants.
- 2SHY Illustrative and pop, with references to urban culture and a tribute to colour
- Bern Graffiti and typographic lettering and colourful characters inspired by Peruvian culture.
- SCRED : typographic and geometric design, a direct legacy of graffiti
Beyond our team of artist friends, operating according to projects a national network of nearly 200 painters (hyperrealists, trompe-l’œil painters, specialists in plant frescoes or anamorphosis, graffiti artists, renowned street artists). For each brief, we select the most relevant profile(s) to carry out our client projects.
How is a decorative mural created?
01. Brief & concept note
We discuss your needs and your ideas. We get to know your venue, your message and your constraints. We then produce a clear brief and a mood board. Optional artistic consultation with local stakeholders.
02. Selection of the artist
We present the portfolios of our artists and friends, based on your artistic sensibility. You approve the style before we proceed further.
03. Mock-up & digital simulation
The chosen artist will create a sketch. We will refine it together through a process of back-and-forth. We will project the model onto a photo of the wall, so you can visualise the result before painting.
04. Preparation & implementation
Surface preparation, floor sheeting, perimeter security, authorisations, cherry picker if needed. We handle everything. The artist paints, over several days or several weeks depending on the size and complexity of the project.
05. Finishing, delivery, documentation
Frescoe exhibition, reception minutes, photo report. Optional: Behind-the-scenes video and drone footage, event entertainment with the artist, inauguration.
How long does it take to complete a mural?
It depends on three factors: the surface area, the complexity of the design, and the availability of the material. Here are a few pointers:
- 50 m² interior (open space, internal wall): approximately 2 days.
- 200 m² outdoor area with a cherry picker: 7 to 10 days.
- 500 m² or more: 2 to 4 weeks, sometimes in several stages.
A hyperrealistic mural takes three to four times longer to complete than a graphic mural of the same size. Some façade murals require the use of cherry pickers and scaffolding, which slows down the process. The same applies to weather conditions for outdoor projects. Every project is unique, so we discuss this from the initial brief onwards.
What technical means for a large-scale fresco?
We handle all aspects of logistics: aerial work platforms, scaffolding, site protection, perimeter security and administrative permits. Our artists are fully equipped (harnesses, PPE) and comply with current safety standards.
Regarding paints: exclusively professional products, with a systematic preference for eco-responsible solutions. The choice depends on the surface and the context.
Guaranteed fit: A minimum of 10 years outdoors, 20 years indoors.
What budget for an artistic fresco?
The cost depends on four parameters:
- The surface to cover.
- The complexity of the style (quick, loose drawing versus demanding hyperrealism).
- Accessibility (direct wall vs. nacelle).
- The artist's notoriety.
To give you an idea of the scale: a small-scale interior mural by an emerging artist starts at around £2,000 before tax. At the other end of the spectrum, a monumental façade mural by an internationally renowned artist can cost €200,000 to €300,000. The majority of our projects fall between these two limits.
Possible intermediate solutions: partial wall covering, intervention on several smaller walls, or choosing a quick graphic style that produces a lot of impact at a lower cost. The quote is always free.
Pourquoi investir dans une fresque murale décorative ?
A mural is not merely a way of decorating a wall. It is a visual signature that etches a place into the memories of those who visit it.
In a company, it transforms an open-plan office into an inspiring environment, strengthens the sense of belonging, and presents a strong image to visitors and candidates. In public spaces, it revives forgotten facades, energises a neighbourhood, and creates social connections.
À Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg, Bordeaux, Lille And in many French cities, large-scale murals are transforming urban landscapes. They bring a touch of colour and creativity to often grey environments, breathing new life into forgotten facades and enhancing the appeal of places. These are genuine works of urban art that integrate into the fabric of the city, which residents and visitors embrace with pride.
Investing in a decorative mural, therefore, offers a building, a business or a neighbourhood a lasting artistic footprint, capable of conveying a powerful aesthetic and cultural message while enhancing the location in the long term.
It can also become a powerful communication tool through a publicity mural carried out with respect for the artistic universe of the place.
Client Cases - 3 murals that resemble us
Gémo: an artistic signature for 50 stores
Between 2018 and 2020, we supported Gémo in the deployment of a black and white artistic signature across some fifty stores in France. The objective: to streamline the customer journey and create strong visual identification of thematic areas in-store.
The art direction was by Jérémy Luks, with a specific version for fitting rooms assigned to 2SHY. A duo supported by our in-house team of artists. The surface areas ranged from 200 m² to over 500 m² per store. We worked in Nantes (head office and pilot store in Basse-Goulaine), La Rochelle, Lille and in the Paris region. The project, initially planned for 300 to 400 stores, was interrupted by the health crisis.
Sephora: Bespoke Murals at the Neuilly Headquarters
For the seat of Sephora in Neuilly-sur-Seine, we have designed a series of interior murals featuring the brand’s logo, with a different stylistic universe for each meeting room.
Average surface per wall: approximately 60 m². Carried out by SCRED and Jérémy Luks, each bringing their visual universe to the rooms they were assigned.
Sowen: visual coherence for a designer showroom
The office fit-out specialist Sown commissioned us to create a mural in his Neuilly-sur-Seine showroom. The challenge: to create visual coherence between the displayed design objects and the room's environment.
Mural, designed and created by Stéphane Opera. Its clean, colourful graphic style matched the spirit of the place. The fresco has since served as the showroom's visual signature.

We have the answers
Are you insured for working at height?
Yes. We have professional indemnity and ten-year (decennial) insurance policies suitable for work on facades, with aerial work platforms, and at height. We can provide the certificates on request during the quotation phase.
Why choose street art decor to adorn your company's walls?
An artistic mural can transform a space by making it more colourful and welcoming. It can also reinforce a company's visual identity and add a trendy touch to the painted space.
Which surfaces (concrete, plaster, brick, wood, interior, exterior) are most suitable for mural painting?
We work on all types of supports and materials. However, acrylic paints differ depending on the materials.
The spray can for wood is excluded.
Do you operate outside of Paris?
Yes, we have no limits. Anything is possible.
How do we create a mural in our premises? How do you work?
- Briefing: we discuss your needs and ideas.
- Artist Selection: based on your style and artistic sensibility,
- We present portfolios from our artists and friends.
- Mock-up and meeting with the artist: the chosen artist will create a sketch that you will approve through iterations.
- Site preparation: preparing the surface to be painted and covering the floors.
- Frescoes: The artist begins the painting work, often on
- Several days or weeks depending on the size of the wall and the complexity of the
- Design.
- Finishing: unveiling of the fresco and inauguration (optional)
How much does a mural cost per square metre?
It depends on the style and complexity. As a rough estimate, expect between €150 and €400 excluding VAT per m² for most projects. Hyperrealistic murals or those requiring difficult access (cherry picker, abseiler) may exceed this. A detailed quote is always free.
Can a custom logo, message, or pattern be integrated into a mural for a business?
We can integrate a company logo, message, or custom design into a mural.
If it's a bespoke order, then the creation will be adapted to your brand guidelines and expectations.
If it's an artist's commission for their style, then their visual universe cannot be altered by external or corporate elements. However, a logo is accepted.
What is the time taken to complete an artistic fresco?
This will depend on the size of the wall and the approved mural design. Some murals require us to use cherry pickers, which slows down the creation process. Each project is unique.
What are the delivery times from order to delivery?
Allow 4 to 8 weeks between quote approval and project completion for a medium-sized project. This timeframe includes artist selection, feedback on the sketch, and then the execution. For tight deadlines (inaugurations, events), we can also work on an urgent basis.
What are the most in-demand artistic styles today for mural painting (hyperrealism, abstract, trompe-l'œil, graphic design)?
The most popular artistic styles are generally graphic in nature. They feature large blocks of colour and geometric shapes, which allow for larger surface areas to be covered whilst keeping costs down. Alix D’Anselme’s style has proved very successful.
Jérémy Luks's hybrid graphic and plant universe also allows for a great deal of freedom of expression.
What are the technical, logistical and administrative requirements to carry out an artistic mural project?
A site reconnaissance is necessary for large exterior walls of the building facade type. We need to ensure the quality of the wall to be painted, but also the space at the foot of this wall to check that our lifts can operate without disturbing pedestrians or traffic. It will be necessary to obtain permissions from the municipality or the building owners. We'll take care of everything!
Are there any financial aid schemes or cultural programmes to support the creation of mural paintings in France?
For businesses, there are no direct grants for these murals. However, they can benefit from cultural patronage with tax deductions on artistic expenses or by integrating the mural into CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) schemes, communication, or enhancing the work environment, which allows for internal funding or tax optimisation.
