Born in 1988 in California, Octavi Arrizabalaga, also known as ARYZ, growing up in Spain in a family of artists, where progressively deserted industrial surfaces became the site of his discovery of graffiti. With an academic background in fine arts, he particularly enjoys drawing and studio work.
The viral dissemination of photos of his works and collaborations with urban art legends on the internet has contributed to establishing his fame. Aryz is a famous Spanish street artist and illustrator. He was born in 1988 in Palo Alto, California, but returned to Spain at the age of three, where he grew up in the suburbs of Barcelona. He quickly showed an interest in the graffiti scene, joined a local graffiti crew as a teenager, and then began experimenting with spray paint in the form of graffiti.
Aryz is known for his large-scale murals. Generally, his murals depict humans or animals in surreal and muted colours. Bones are a recurring motif in the artist's work, with characters revealing their insides, organs or bones. Whatever his definition, Aryz likes to use classic street art tools such as brushes, spray paint, rollers, etc. He likes to paint in abandoned factories because people avoid disturbing him. These factories often offer a perfect location due to their enormous walls and varied surfaces. Aryz attributes his talent as a spray painter because it was the method he mainly used to practice.
Aryz prefers to create large-scale murals. This quickly earns him a place among the top muralists. He states that placing a shape on a wall is simply an excuse to put colours in one place or another. Aryz also prefers to avoid focusing on a specific message.
Aryz's beautiful street art often features gigantic creatures, arranged in strange and emotional mixes that express both brutality and tenderness. Her art can also depict a palette of bright, fresh colours that create fantastical, sci-fi-like atmospheres. Aryz's style is so unique that she often blends extreme colours and characters perfectly.
