Paint Your Partner is a team-building activity where participants are paired up and given a painting in the style of a mystery artist with a very specific colour palette. They then have to work together to recreate the painting as accurately as possible. The twist is that they can only see half of the painting at a time, and the other person in their pair is the only one who can see the other half. This means they have to communicate and trust each other to describe what they see and to guide their partner in recreating the artwork. It's a fun way to encourage collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Each pair sits facing each other, with a canvas on an easel and a shared palette of paints, and with just one instruction: to paint the other person. The artist from the Street Designers team guides you step by step, offering style tips (Cubism, Pop Art, comic books, Cubist art, etc.) to create a quirky portrait. No special talent required: here, it’s all about spontaneity, observation… and a good dose of self-deprecation.
How does a Paint Your Partner team building event work?
The workshop takes place in several stages, with a rhythm but without pressure:
- Welcome and setup: participants take their seats in pairs around long tables. Easels, canvases, brushes, palettes and eco-friendly paint sets are already in place. The artist introduces the workshop and gives the first instruction.
- Style choice: cubism, pop art, comic strip, minimalism, cubist, street art… A small catalogue of inspirations is available to help you. Each duo chooses a style that inspires them or decides to do their own thing.
- Painting: each participant paints a portrait of their partner by looking at them, without ever glancing at their own canvas. Meanwhile, the artist circulates, offers advice, lightens the mood, and stimulates creativity.
- The final reveal: on the signal, everyone puts down their brushes. We show our canvases to our colleagues, we comment, we laugh, we compare. Sometimes the most spectacular failures are the biggest hits!
The duration of the workshop is adaptable (generally 1.5 to 2 hours), depending on the time you have available and the format of your event.
As an optional end-of-day activity, it is also possible to share a drink while the paintings are being created.

Each pair faces each other, brush in hand, to paint a portrait of their colleague. There’s no pressure; the aim is to let go, have a laugh and build connections.
How is the activity going?
The workshop follows three simple steps:

Where can this event be organised?
At your premises, in a room hired for the occasion, indoors or outdoors (terrace, garden, courtyard). We operate in Paris, throughout France and even internationally.
What space and materials do you need?
Allow around 1.5 to 2m² per person, with tables and chairs. We'll provide everything else: canvases, easels, paintbrushes, eco-friendly paints, and table protectors.
What is the ideal duration for a workshop?
