Street Designers X VNF: a live performance by artists across four screens
Before the new year, we were held by Inland Waterways of France (VNF) to achieve, during a dedicated trade fair, a fresco in Show live on four large canvases. The instructions stated that we had to illustrate the evolution of their activities towards a greener world and also to refer to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 with whom the company is partnering due to the events taking place on their river network.
Our confirmed street artists Check and Scarred begin first by sketch the mock-ups of the future canvases so that the client has a concrete idea of what the final work will look like. Upstream, we were asked to highlight certain elements that absolutely had to be incorporated, such as Logistics, the Olympics, commercial shipping, green ships, and energy production.
It's at Grand Palais, Lille that the event was held. Before the astonished eyes of the spectators, our artists created these canvases of great symbolic value. Thus, the last in the series depicts an electric boat and swimmers in the Seine. We have also chosen to illustrate energy production by dams and the Olympic festivities at the centre of this work, which also becomes the official New Year's card intended for their clients and partners.
