Stéphane OPERA – Street artist and Street Designer Parisian
From the scene Graffiti and Street Art where he has been an activist since 1998, he has worked for over 10 years as Artistic Director of an agency and on his own account, before turning to work in studio, focusing more on his personal universe.
Saturday Painting, directly influenced by the Contemporary graphic design and architecture, reveals a geometric approach through abstract, incisive and colourful graphic compositions.
Influenced by the Cubism, Constructivism and the Bauhaus school, Stéphane OPERA explain his fathers' techniques such as Juan Gris, Fernand Léger, Robert and Sonia Delaunay or Francis Picabia.
Stéphane Opéra is part of the group of friends and collective known as Street Designers. He takes part in our evening events to create a participative fresco or a Show live or to coach participants during NOS team building activities.

A poetic Street Art Tour through the artist’s world, as seen by Marie Ange Baudin

Red, white, yellow, red, blue, blue… like a tune of’Opera, the colours vibrate to the rhythm of the geometric shapes that make up the works of the’Graffiti artist. This melody finds its way into our streets, our hearts, and our homes. It doesn't leave us. As we stroll, we can walk to the rhythm of the frescoes.’Opera like that of the Allée Jean Renoir in Pierrefitte.
Like a surprise, it stands before the pedestrian's eyes. No more wandering in the greyness. This work was born from a collaboration with the’Graffiti artist Sweetener. A true trompe l'œil, it is composed of several «panels» that function independently of each other from a point of view artistic. This fresco It transports us on a journey on the edge of a bus, the 11B. We pass under arches that offer glimpses of the sea, along the coast. You can almost feel a cool breeze caress your face thanks to the intensity of the blues warmed by touches of red. There, a sun cut by a cloud or the sensual lips of a woman... Here, a drape flying in the wind. What a beautiful journey the street artists offer to our imagination!

Fancy prolonging this Artistic escapade Nothing could be simpler, thanks to the paintings in the Music series and the Astronomy Instruments series by Opéra. Indeed, he knows how to handle different formats, moving from the street to the canvas. His geometric universe, with flat, primary colours, allows for Street art decoration indoors. His Paintings are not unlike the works of the great Matisse, created in Collioure, in the south of France, on the Mediterranean coast.
Opera works also recall those of Picasso, from the Cubist period, which highlight the music so dear to the Spanish artist. Fancy warmth, sweetness, and positive vibes, relax in your favourite armchair under the protective gaze of one of the Opera backdrops. A violin tune or some jazz music, the music lover within you will know how to tune in to artist's colours.

If this universe has seduced you, it has also won over those of major brands Like Adidas. This iconic sports brand has enlisted Opera for dress the walls from his new store located on Boulevard Haussmann in Paris. The walls vibrate under the artist's brushstrokes. Like the heartbeats of the athletes he dresses Adidas, the geometric shapes of Opera dancing on the walls and communicating a positive energy to visitors. Waves of colour that run towards other places…

And join the melodies of the pianos from the «Play me I'm Yours» project initiated by the English visual artist Luke Jerram In 2008, pianos were made available to everyone, to share a moment of joy together through music. The piano invites one to be spectator and actor. It invites sharing and surprises with the location in which it is found: the street becomes a stage. It thus joins the large family of Urban art. Street art shares several points with this project. Indeed, it brightens up the cities, it makes passers-by ponder as they stop in front of it, or not, for a moment.
These pedestrians sometimes chat among themselves; they take photos which they share on social media, just like those listening to the pianists of the day. Project «Play me I'm Yours». So it’s only natural that the encounter between Opera and the «PIY» project».The colours harmonise with the piano, they echo its shapes and seem to come alive from the first notes played by this pianist for a day.

To end a beautiful day in the world of Opera, let's go discover the restaurant Palermo of which he decorated the walls. This time, its colours envelop us completely, like a jewel case. This intense blue, the red and yellow that accompany it, invite us to take our time to savour our meals.
On one of the walls, subtly hidden, one discovers a bust, a head tilted back as if sniffing the air and revelling in the scents of the various perfumes emanating from the savoury dishes. An invitation for all the senses is extended. Our minds thus travel once more thanks to these culinary artists and these Graffiti artists, these color passers.
Opera, graffiti artist, musician of colours, . It brings colour and joy back to our towns and hearts, and in this, it truly lives up to its name.
An opera transports us with its moments of violence, its moments of calm and respite, and never leaves indifferent anyone who listens to it, sees it, lives it. Let us therefore take you by the hand for this fabulous journey through opera scores.
